Brief
Interface Tourism was appointed by the European Commission to work on a collaborative project to develop skills and to gain knowledge of private Tour Operators and local Tourism Bodies.
The main objective was to adapt the Vietnamese tourist offer to the principal European outbound markets.
Tactics
The concept was to educate key local players and to convince them of the French market’s considerable potential for travel to Vietnam.
- An extensive tourism research project was carried out to collect tourism data, conduct surveys and analyse the results to thereby produce a Market Guide applicable to the French market.
- A Capacity Building project to increase knowledge amongst the international tourism industry of the key players in the Vietnamese tourism industry.
- The preparation of a 4 hour group seminar for approximately 50 pax per session.
- 3 seminars took place in each of the country’s main cities, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang – 9 seminars in total.
Result
- A total of 450 people participated in the seminars
- A comprehensive brochure on the French market was produced by Interface Tourism
- An interview and an article were published in local newspapers, “Viet Nam News” and “Viet Nam Net”
- Greatly enhanced reputation of Interface Tourism as Experts in Tourism and of M. Gael De La Porte Du Teil as a keynote speaker on Vietnamese Tourism
