Portugal’s Alentejo, “Unsung but Not for Long”, is known for its hilltop castles and its "stopped-in-medieval-times" atmosphere. The main tourist attraction in the region is the castle of Marvão, a spectacularly located walled town which GoLisbon recommends as one of Portugal’s Top 10 "must-sees" but the region boasts other "must-sees" as well, such as Estremoz and Crato. These last two towns have highly recommended "Pousadas".
