MARKET RESEARCH FOR A DESTINATION
At the end of 2005, Interface Tourism conducted a market research for the Portugal Tourism Institute. The research was going to be used by the THR a Spanish Consulting partner, specialized in the tourism, hotel and catering industry. A survey was conducted among the French Tour Operators and Travel Agents in order to identify the potential of 10 different products.

Equestrian tours
Sun and Beach
Nautical tourism


Portugal considered to develop all of these products-lines therefore Portugal consulted Interface Tourism for advice. A study was made in order to see the effect of promoting each of these products and how they would be received by the consumers.
The study aimed at:
Phase 1 :
Data collection; A search of publications and statistical data. This research was conducted for each of the products in order to understand the demand.
Phase 2 :
Specialist interviews with tour operators.
On the basis of the information collected we concluded the demand, potential volume, profile of the traveller and the motivations for travelling.
