For their travels abroad, Italian tourists use booking more often than for their travels in Italy : 49,2 % turn to a tour operator or a travel agency.
Strong upward trend in last minute purchasing for "winter & sunny destinations" (such as Caribbean islands or Red Sea destinations…) or for short breaks in European big cities.
Italian tourists are attracted by "urban" tourism (shopping) and cultural tourism but also trips and “sea & sun” stays (46%).
