Born in 1970, Birgit grew up in Bruges. She studied Tourism Management (KHBO Bruges) where she completed her studies in 1994. She consequently worked for 5 years for P&O North Sea Ferries as key account manager for the Belgian Market.

Birgit left P&O ferries to work in Edinburgh for VisitScotland, the official Scottish Toursit Board, as International Marketing Manager for Benelux and Scandinavia from March 2000 till March 2003.

Now, as the managing director of Interface Tourism in Belgium, she manages an important portfolio composed by Turismo de Lisboa, Curaçao tourist Board, Euro Relais, Sultanate of Oman, VisitScotland, Jersey Tourism, Norfolkline ferries, SNCM, Toerisme Brugge and Barbados.

Main hobbies & interests are travelling, cycling and walking. Birgit enjoys meeting friends and a good meal. She has a large interest in different cultures, gets carried away with good books.
